Matt Derkach
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Matt studied Aerospace Engineering and Industrial Design at Ohio State University. His career started with designing automated manufacturing assembly machines before designing the first C8 mid-engine Corvette, including the full-scale interior mockup and testing multiple full-scaled wind tunnel models. Matt also co-founded an Innovation Department at GM, where he led the hardware and prototyping teams focused on next-generation and autonomous vehicles. Matt subsequently directed the design of multiple eVTOL interior and exterior features, user-tested future aerial ride-sharing interior cabins, and managed full-scale vehicle builds (such as the CES 2020 Hyundai S-A1) as Uber Elevate’s Sr. Industrial Design Lead.
