Timothy Brandt

Originally from Detroit, Tim studied Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to start his career in Visual Effects & Animation. He spent 10 years at Sony Pictures Imageworks working on such films as “Open Season”, “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” and “Hotel Transylvania”. Seeing the excitement in the LA tech ecosystem, Tim pivoted to iOS Development in 2013 and began working at several startups. At Bird, Tim played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s operations pipeline for servicing Bird scooters and contributed many features to the Rider App. He then co-founded Neon-AR, an app to find friends using graphics overlaid on the world. At Curbit, he built a real-time food ordering app using a virtual drive-thru system to deliver orders as customers arrive, ensuring food freshness. Finally, at Snap, he learned an appreciation for app development at scale, helping to build shoppable lenses - a product for trying on and purchasing items. Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his two children and walking his dog.
