Originally from Madrid, Spain, Javier is an innovative engineer with extensive experience spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia. His career is characterized by a commitment to developing groundbreaking technologies that enhance efficiency across various transportation sectors.
Javier founded Moonware in 2020 with the vision of transforming operations for the aviation industry. Before this, he collaborated with Uber Elevate on designing autonomous pushback vehicles for air taxis, a crucial advancement for the Urban Air Mobility market. Prior to that, he was part of Uber ATG, where he bridged systems and hardware engineering teams to advance Uber’s self-driving framework.
His expertise in autonomous technology was honed during his time at Tesla, where he reported to the VP of Engineering during the pivotal 2018 Model 3 production ramp-up phase, and also contributed to the development of autonomous vehicles for material conveyance.
Javier's engineering journey began in Tokyo, Japan, at a leading robotics company. His passion for innovation was evident early on; he was granted his first patent at the age of 15. He later studied Mechanical Engineering at Duke University, laying the groundwork for his future contributions to technology and aviation.
