Airfield Deployment Engineer

Originally from northern Virginia, David has over 10 years of experience in the aerospace and cloud engineering industries. He earned a BS in Astronautical Engineering from the US Air Force Academy and an MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington, where he focused on applied optimal control theory for distributed aerospace systems.

David began his career in the US Air Force as a GPS Developmental Engineer, where he coordinated radio frequency spectrum sharing agreements with other Global Navigation Satellite System providers and international regulatory organizations. He then transitioned to SpaceX, focusing on mission management for satellite hosted payloads. During his time at Frontier Technology, he led cloud migration initiatives for US Space Force weather satellite systems.

Over the past 4.5 years, David worked as a Senior Aerospace Consultant and Senior Prototyping Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he deployed emerging technology solutions for aerospace companies and enterprise AWS customers.

David's interest in commercial aviation was sparked by the strong international partnerships he saw while representing GPS at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal. He joined Moonware motivated by his passion for using technology to empower frontline teams and the opportunity to enhance the speed, efficiency, and safety of airfield operations.

He is excited to bring his hybrid background of aerospace and cloud engineering to the team at Moonware and help deploy Moonware’s capabilities at airfields around the world.
